FAQ
First Time? Don't Worry, We've Got Your Back!
How much does a visit cost?
An initial consultation including treatment is $70. Should x-rays be required they can cost up to $100 to be completed in-house. Bulk-billing x-rays can be referred out to the local radiologists.
Is Chiropractic covered by my private health insurance?
Chiropractic services are covered by all private health insurance providers. During your initial consultation, we will conduct a thorough examination to assess your condition and determine the most suitable treatment options. The cost of treatment depends on your level of coverage, so please check with your health insurance provider for specific details.
Dr Simo Jovic is a preferred provider with major health insurers and we have HICAPS for easy on-site processing, so you only pay the gap.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No, you don’t need a referral to see a chiropractor. You can book an appointment directly. However, if your GP recommends chiropractic care, they may refer you for up to 5 Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) visits, which are covered by Medicare.
Does Medicare cover Chiropractic?
Chiropractic services can be covered under Medicare through the EPC (Enhanced Primary Care) program if your GP determines that you qualify and provides you with an EPC form. To be eligible, you must have:
(a) A chronic condition and complex care needs, which are being managed by a medical practitioner (other than a specialist or consultant) under both a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangements. If you reside in an aged care facility, your GP must have contributed to a multidisciplinary care plan.
(b) Chiropractic care must be recommended in your Team Care Arrangements or multidisciplinary care plan as part of managing your chronic condition and complex care needs.
(c) Each service must be at least 20 minutes in duration.
Patients can receive a maximum of 5 services per calendar year under this program.
What should I expect on my first visit?
Before your first visit, you’ll need to complete our new patient form. During your initial visit, our chiropractor will meet with you to discuss your current health concerns. They will also ask additional questions about your health and medical history to gain a full understanding of your overall health. Next, we will perform a comprehensive examination that includes neurological, postural, orthopaedic, and chiropractic assessments to help accurately diagnose the issue. If necessary, you may be referred for x-rays (which we have on-site). Your chiropractor will then explain the findings, how chiropractic care can assist, and outline your treatment options. If it’s determined that chiropractic care is right for you, treatment will begin during this first visit.
I don't want a manual adjustment, do you use an activator?
Do you treat Pregnant Women and children?
Yes, we treat patients of all ages, from expectant mothers and newborns to seniors. Chiropractic care is tailored to each person’s unique needs, allowing us to safely provide care in a variety of circumstances.
Am I too old for Chiropractic Care?
In short, no, there’s no age restriction for chiropractic care! Many people, particularly in their later years, are turning to chiropractors for support. To ensure the safest and most effective care, chiropractic techniques are adapted to suit each individual, no matter their age or stage of life.
